Professional Experience

Business Intelligence Engineer

Amazon

Jun 2024 - Present

What I’m Doing

As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Amazon, I am focused on understanding customer behavior by analyzing data to identify key factors behind Prime membership churn. My work is helping the team reduce churn rates in high-risk regions, ensuring more customers stay engaged with Prime services. I’m also building interactive dashboards to visualize churn patterns and engagement metrics, making it easier for stakeholders to make informed decisions that drive growth in Prime Video and Music usage. Additionally, I’m collaborating with cross-functional teams to act on insights from AWS Redshift and S3, optimizing delivery timelines and re-engagement efforts to improve customer satisfaction.

What I’m Learning

This role is teaching me how to use data to uncover insights that directly impact customer retention and business outcomes. I’m seeing firsthand how visualizing complex data in simple, actionable ways can empower teams to make better decisions. I’m also learning the importance of working closely with different teams to turn insights into real-world solutions, like improving delivery processes and re-engagement strategies. Most importantly, I’m realizing that data is most valuable when it’s used to create a better experience for customers, and that collaboration and adaptability are key to driving success in a fast-paced environment like Amazon. Every day is an opportunity to grow and contribute to something bigger.

Data Analyst

San Jose State University, San Jose, CA

Sept 2023 - May 2024

What I Did

While working, I got the chance to create interactive dashboards in Tableau and Power BI. Taking raw data and transforming it into something that helped the team make better decisions felt rewarding. I also spent a lot of time analyzing trends using Excel and SQL, and it was awesome to see how that work helped improve overall efficiency. On top of that, I wrote reports that supported some key university initiatives, and it felt great knowing my work was contributing to smarter, data-driven choices across teams.

What I Learned

This role really taught me the art of making complex data easy to digest. It’s not just about crunching numbers but about telling a story that resonates with the people who need it most. I learned how to pull data from different sources, analyze it, and present it in ways that actually drive action. Most importantly, I realized how impactful the right insights can be in shaping strategy and improving efficiency. It’s one thing to work with data, but turning it into something that truly helps people—that’s the sweet spot.

Customer Insights Analyst (Intern)

Uber

Jun 2023 - Aug 2023

What I Did

During my internship at Uber as a Customer Insights Analyst, I worked on improving driver incentive programs by diving into engagement data to better understand what drives participation. I helped make the incentive system more efficient while ensuring drivers remained motivated and engaged. I also built a real-time dashboard to monitor how these incentives were performing, which saved the team significant time and allowed us to make quick, data-driven adjustments. Collaborating with Operations and Finance teams, I contributed to designing a new incentive model that improved ride availability in less busy areas and made the program more cost-effective.

What I Learned

This experience taught me how to use data to solve real-world problems and make decisions that benefit both the business and the people it serves. I saw firsthand how small, thoughtful changes can create meaningful impact, like keeping drivers engaged while optimizing costs. I also learned the importance of building tools that simplify processes, so teams can focus on solving bigger challenges. Most importantly, I realized how much growth comes from collaboration, curiosity, and embracing the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of a company like Uber. It was a reminder that data is most powerful when it’s used to understand and improve the human experience.

Senior Data Analyst

DigiCorp Information Systems, India

January 2019 - July 2022

What I Did

At DigiCorp, my first full-time job, I had the chance to experiment with A/B testing and segmentation, which taught me how small adjustments can lead to big results. I built dashboards that weren’t just numbers on a screen—they became the go-to tools for faster decision-making. I also learned how to tie data to real business impact, from improving customer experience to driving marketing success during busy seasons.

What I Learned

I learned that data isn’t just about crunching numbers; it’s about making smart decisions quickly. I also discovered that the real magic happens when you can connect the dots between data and business strategy. And I realized that, no matter how much you know, there’s always room to grow—especially when it’s your first job and you’re figuring things out as you go!

Academic Background

Master of Science in Data Analytics

Savitribai Phule Pune University, India

June 2016 - May 2020

Why Master's?
I pursued my Master in Data Analytics at San Jose State University because I’ve always been passionate about uncovering insights from data and using them to solve real-world problems.

Things I Learned
Throughout the program, I gained hands-on experience with machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization, working on projects that reinforced my skills in SQL, Python, and predictive modeling.

More than just technical knowledge, my master’s helped me develop a problem-solving mindset and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

What’s Next?

I want to use these skills to help businesses turn complex data into actionable strategies, driving meaningful impact in any industry I work in.

Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology

San Jose State University, San Jose, CA

August 2022 - May 2024

Why Bachelor?

I chose to pursue my Bachelor in Information Technology at Pune University because I was always that kid who wanted to know how things worked—whether it was breaking down a computer or figuring out why some websites seemed faster than others. I loved the idea of using technology to solve problems, and this degree gave me the perfect playground to explore coding, data, and everything in between.

Things I Learned

My Bachelor taught me more than just programming—it taught me patience (shoutout to debugging). I learned how to break down complex problems, think logically, and write efficient code—after many, many trial-and-error moments. Working on projects showed me the power of structured data, clean code, and, most importantly, teamwork (or how to survive when your teammates ghost you). But what really stuck with me was how data drives everything—whether it’s predicting trends, optimizing systems, or making smarter decisions. That fascination pushed me toward data analytics, where I get to turn raw numbers into real insights.

Junior and Senior Year

R. B. Narayanrao Borawake College, India

June 2014 - April 2016

Why?

I chose Science and Tech because, honestly, everyone around me was doing it, and I didn’t want to be the odd one out. Plus, science was the cool thing—robots, space, computers—how could I resist?

Things I Learned

I dove deep into all things science and tech, from chemistry experiments to coding. It was like discovering a whole new world of possibilities, and I learned how everything around us—our gadgets, the internet, even space—has a tech twist. Oh, and I made a few new friends along the way—some of whom are still with me on this tech journey! Definitely wasn’t a bad choice!

School Education

De Paul English Medium High School

June 2005 - March 2014

Why?

My parents decided on this school, I guess, just because it was the closest one to my house. No long commutes—just roll out of bed, and boom, I’m there.

Things I Learned

I learned how to navigate school life—like surviving the dreaded pop quiz, figuring out which friends were great for homework help, and mastering the art of procrastination. Oh, and I picked up a thing or two about math and science along the way!
